WHAT MAKES JONAS JR PHOTO DIFFERENT

HIGHEST QUALITY / ECONOMICALLY PRICED

I've heard about and seen you've work; how are you so affordable? This is one of the most common questions I receive. Based on the quality of work received, other comparable photographers charge more. My answer is simple: I have spent $0 on marketing and advertising and have very little overhead. This allows me to continue to pass those savings on to my clients year after year. I have been able to consistency fill my schedule through referrals and word of mouth without having to spend a nickel in advertising or marketing.

PHOTOGRAPHS

All photos are photographed in RAW and FULL FRAME. There is a HUGE difference between hiring a photographer that shoots in this format as opposed to JPEG. This format requires a significant amount more time in editing and storage capacity, but lends to the highest quality for you. I also shoot with Nikon professional gear that is used in the commercial and fashion industry - billboards, magazines, etc. This equipment is the best, but is considered by many as overkill in the wedding and lifestyle photography world. Nevertheless, I prefer to shoot with the best so my clients receive the highest quality possible.

EDITING / CONSISTENCY

All photos are edited by Jonas. Editing will never be outsourced or completed by another individual. This not only produces consistent high quality photos you can expect to receive, but also assures you ALL the photos in the portfolio you are reviewing right now will be similar to what you can expect your photos to look like given it's the same person creating and editing your photos even if your event is a year or two out.

FINE ART PROCESS

All photos go through an extra layer of fine art process (Negative Raw -> Editing -> Fine Art), which typically takes 2-3 times more time to complete. For example, a 10 hour wedding day will typically take 20-30 hours of my time in fine art editing alone. See below the impact of your photos going through my fine art process.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Do we get the digital files? Absolutely. This is something I have been doing since day one. I think it's important for my clients to have those files and have the ability to use, print and share them however they'd like.

Are they high resolution? Absolutely. The photos will be optimized so not only are they high resolution and will print amazing, but they are also stripped of all the unnecessary information that makes file sizes large and bloated. This way you can download the images quicker, attach them to emails, share on Facebook and upload to your favorite cloud server without it taking weeks. Over the years I have dialed in the perfect optimized file size that gives you all the benefits of printing and working with the images online as possible.

Do I have to order prints through you? Nope. You can download and order your prints wherever you would like. If you like things that are convenient and easy you'll love the print order system built directly into the gallery though. Prices are extremely affordable and the prints are printed at an amazing production facility that works solely with professional photographers and delivers direct to your home in just a few days. So if you want to do it yourself you can, but if you like it easy I've made that possible for you as well.

How are they delivered? I used to deliver them via DVD. But with the advancement of technology better options are now available to us. No more having to worry about a DVD getting lost or scratched. Your online gallery of photos will all be stored in the cloud. Easily accessible on any computer, mobile device or tablet. One button click and you'll start downloading all images. You can even order prints direct from the gallery at very affordable prices from printing facilities only available to professional photographers. Lastly, you can send that link to all your friends and family so they too can enjoy the photos and download the ones they like of themselves. However, there is also an option to receive all your photos on a personalized USB thumb drive.

How many photos will I get? On average you’ll receive 80-100 images per hour of shooting. One of my best traits as a photographer other than the ability to create great photos and edit them well, is also the ability to tell the entire story of your wedding day with the right amount of photos. Quality is more important than quantity. You don't need thousands of photos. You want a wide variety of high quality photos that will tell your story very well from beginning to end. No matter what, you will have a hard time deciding how to narrow down the photos you will want to eventually hang on your wall in your home.

How long before I see them? This is highly dependent on the time of year. Typically it's about 30 days. I will do my best to post a sneak peek as well.

Do you pose your couples? Instead of posing a couple I prefer to give them prompts. So as an example we might go to a beautiful area of their venue have the couple look at me and then on the count of three look at one another and try to guess the same color. While the idea sounds quite silly on paper it results in great photos of couples smiling, laughing and enjoying one another. I also love offering prompts to the couples to slow things down and get the beautiful romantic shots that show the connection between the two of them. Prompts bring out the natural reactions which is what I love to photograph.

Do you have a second shooter? Yes, there is an option for a second shooter, however I have found this is one area of photography that has been overvalued and used more for marketing purposes by photographers. In most cases having a second shooter is unnecessary and adds an unnecessary added expense. There are certain rare situations however that I do recommend them. If you do decide after discussing with your photographer that you need a second shooter, it's critical your second shooter is equally as experienced as your primary photographer otherwise you will notice the differences in quality in the photos received. If we decide your special day would benefit from a second shooter, I will be editing and processing all the second shooter's photos through the fine art process.

What kind of gear do you use? I use top of the line Nikon professional cameras, lenses and flashes. I also bring backups. When I shoot all images are saved to two different memory cards at the same time as a precaution in case one card has errors. This feature is something only available in the most high end equipment.

The venue will be dark, is that a concern? Not at all. I will typically bring 5 professional lights to the reception hall that gives me more than enough light to capture the highest quality photos possible in any situation no matter how dark.

How do I reserve you for our wedding day? Two things are needed to reserve your date: a signed wedding agreement and a 30% retainer.

How do I reach you? Easiest way is using the contact form built into the site. After an initial chat or email exchange I love to set up a meeting to get to know one another either face to face or video chat. It's a wonderful way of learning about each other, chatting about the wedding and answering any questions you might have for me.
